Iowa Winners
Charles ‘Chuck’ Anderson from Davenport won a Lotto America jackpot worth $4.38 million on May 5, 2018, which was only the second time the grand prize had been won after Lotto America’s relaunch. Remarkably, he had not even had to buy a ticket for the draw. Instead, he received it for free as part of Iowa’s ‘Lotto Surprise’ promotion, so he was given automatic entry when he purchased a Powerball ticket.
He chose to take the money as a cash lump sum of around $2.6 million, and said he was ‘excited for the opportunity to help his family’.
