How to Play in Maine
The process for entering Lotto America in Maine is the same as any other participating state. You just need to select five numbers from 1 to 52, and a Star Ball between 1 and 10. You can also ask for an Easy Pick, which generates a random line of numbers to use. However, there also some rules specific to Maine:
- You must be 18 years of age or over to play the lottery in Maine
- Tickets must be bought on the day of a drawing by 9:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. CT
- You can enter up to 30 drawings in advance by marking the relevant section on your playslip
How to Claim in Maine

Prizes worth up to and including $599 – Take your ticket to any licensed retailer to claim your winnings, or mail it to the address below.
Prizes worth $600 over – You can claim these prizes from any licensed retailer or the Maine Lottery office in Hallowell. You must take a form of government-issued identification, such as a passport or an identification card, with your winning ticket. You can also claim by mail. If you have won a prize as part of a lottery pool, each member of the group has to complete a claim form. When the winning ticket is submitted, the form should also indicate how much money each winner will receive. Each player will then receive a check and W-2G tax form.
Here is some extra information you should know about claiming prizes in Maine:

Since the Maine Lottery was launched in 1974, over $1.24 billion in revenue from the sale of lottery tickets has been allocated to the state’s General Fund. The fund supports Maine’s citizens by helping local schools, health services, higher education and other public services. Over $2.2 million has been given back to players in prize money, and since 1996, $18.85 million has also been given to the Outdoor Heritage Fund, which supports wildlife projects and conservation in Maine.
