How to Play in Maine
The process for entering Lotto America in Maine is the same as any other participating state. You just need to select five numbers from 1 to 52, and a Star Ball between 1 and 10. You can also ask for an Easy Pick, which generates a random line of numbers to use. However, there also some rules specific to Maine:
- You must be 18 years of age or over to play the lottery in Maine
- Tickets must be bought on the day of a drawing by 9:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. CT
- You can enter up to 30 drawings in advance by marking the relevant section on your playslip

Prizes worth up to and including $599 – Take your ticket to any licensed retailer to claim your winnings, or mail it to the address below.
Prizes worth $600 over – You can claim these prizes from any licensed retailer or the Maine Lottery office in Hallowell. You must take a form of government-issued identification, such as a passport or an identification card, with your winning ticket. You can also claim by mail. If you have won a prize as part of a lottery pool, each member of the group has to complete a claim form. When the winning ticket is submitted, the form should also indicate how much money each winner will receive. Each player will then receive a check and W-2G tax form.

Since the Maine Lottery was launched in 1974, over $1.24 billion in revenue from the sale of lottery tickets has been allocated to the state’s General Fund.
