Lotto America in Mississippi
Mississippi became the first new state to be added to the revamped Lotto America when it was revealed in April 2024 that tickets would go on sale the following month. Previously, the same 13 states had played the game since it was launched in 2017.
How to Play in Mississippi
Lotto America follows the same format in Mississippi as elsewhere, but there are a couple of state-specific rules to be aware of.
- The minimum age to buy a ticket is 21.
- You can add EZ-Match to your ticket for an extra $1. A series of random numbers will be printed on your ticket, alongside a prize value. If any of these EZ-Match numbers match the numbers you have selected, you win the prize amount shown.
Claiming Prizes in Mississippi
You have several options for claiming Lotto America prizes in Mississippi, depending on how much you win.
Prizes up to $600 – You can claim your winnings from any licensed retailer or by submitting a claim by mail.
Prizes between $601 and $99,999 – You can redeem winnings of this value by mail or by visiting the Mississippi Lottery Headquarters. You will need to complete a claim form and provide valid ID, showing your name, signature, photo, age and Social Security number. The address for mail-in claims is the Mississippi Lottery Corporation, P.O. Box 321462, Flowood, MS, 39232.
Prizes of $100,000 or more – You must claim major prizes at the Mississippi Lottery Headquarters, located at 1080 River Oaks Drive, Bldg. B-100, Flowood, MS, 39232.

Where Does the Money Go?
The money from lottery tickets in Mississippi is split a number of ways. As well as paying for prizes, covering the costs of running the lottery and rewarding retailers with commission, a large portion of the revenue goes back to the state.
Net proceeds up to $80 million every year are paid into the State Highway Fund, so that highways and bridges can be repaired, renovated and maintained. Beyond that, all money is transferred to the Education Enhancement Fund.
