All Star Bonus
The All Star Bonus is a multiplier which increases the value of non-jackpot winnings in Lotto America. You need to add this option when you buy your ticket and, if you win any award apart from the Grand Prize, it will be increased by up to five times its original value. The All Star Bonus makes it possible to win $100,000 from one line without even landing the jackpot!
How to Enter
To enter, you must select the All Star Bonus option on your playslip. It costs an additional $1 per play, so the price for each Lotto America line you choose would be $2. It is not possible to add the All Star Bonus to just some of the plays on your slip – it is all or none.
You do not have to select any further numbers, but the rest of your playslip must be completed correctly in order for your entry to be submitted and for you to be eligible for prizes.
You cannot opt in to the All Star Bonus once your ticket has been printed or after the draw has taken place.
Prizes
If you win a Lotto America prize, it will be increased by two, three, four or five times if you have added the All Star Bonus option to your ticket. The only exception is the jackpot, which will not be increased if you played the All Star Bonus.

The prize pool consists of 49.6 percent of each $1 spent on the All Star Bonus. An additional 0.4 percent also goes to the All Star Bonus pool account, which is used as a reserve fund to make sure that all prizes can be paid. The remaining 50 percent of revenue is kept by the individual state lotteries and distributed according to their own policies.
All Star Bonus prizes are paid out in one lump sum. There is only an annuity option in Lotto America for the jackpot, which is not affected by the All Star Bonus.
Lotto America prize amounts can be adjusted and become pari-mutuel in extreme circumstances. When this happens, the All Star Bonus multiplier is applied to the new prize amount. For example, if the Match 5 payout in the main game is reduced from $20,000 to $10,000 and a 5x multiplier is selected, an All Star Bonus player would win $50,000. Go to the Prizes page for more information about how much of the prize pool is allocated to each category when it is not possible to pay the fixed amounts.
All Star Bonus Draws
An All Star Bonus drawing is held prior to each Lotto America draw to determine which multiplier will be applied to prizes. The multiplier - 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x - is drawn at random, but the probability of each one being drawn is different. The table below shows the chances of each multiplier being drawn:
All Star Bonus | Odds of being Drawn |
---|---|
5x | 3 in 32 |
4x | 4 in 32 |
3x | 10 in 32 |
2x | 15 in 32 |
The MUSL Lotto America Group may decide to hold special promotions from time to time which alter these odds or fix the multiplier for a specific drawing, but this will be announced in advance.
